Ukrainian Brands We Love
Bevza
Svitlana Bevza, the Kyiv-based designer, established her namesake brand in 2006 and was one of the first designers in Ukraine to incorporate sustainable techniques into her clothing designs in 2018. Her designs are clean and sophisticated silhouettes that attract attention, but it’s the tiny details and craftsmanship of her stunning pieces that truly elevate her work.
J’Amois
J’Amois call their designs “Universe in a ring box”. Inspired by French vintage designs and proudly handcrafted in Ukraine, these stunning jewellery boxes, available in an array of rainbow colours and shapes and with monogramming possible, are little treasures themselves, perfectly designed to hold our most prized possessions and be passed down from generation to generation.
Anna October
Anna October founded her eponymous brand in 2010 and was shortlisted for the LVMH prize in 2014. The brand is a celebration of love, life, and femininity, one that is all about women expressing their spirit of sensitivity, courage, and freedom. Body-hugging dresses are paired with lingerie and cashmere knits, encouraging women to be proudly confident and beautiful.
Vita Kin
Vita Kin, the designer of the namesake brand, designs her pieces with the inspiration of her own Ukrainian heritage and its famed embroidery methods and patterns in mind. Today, the brand has grown to implement other artisanal techniques developed and preserved through the ages by cultures from around the world, resulting in eye-catching creations with a genuine feel of authenticity in a modern context. Craftspeople in the label’s Kyiv atelier undergo a month of meticulous training, and each design can take up to three weeks to complete. Expect voluminous dresses in elaborate patterns, perfect for warm-weather vacations.
