Opening Autumn 2025, The Malkai is a culmination of a decades-long dream of one family dedicated to sharing the beauty of their homeland. Offering a first-of-its-kind immersion into Oman, The Malkai’s three sites (The Malkai, Barkaa, set amongst the traditional farmlands of North Oman amongst acres of date plantations; The Malkai, Hajar, located in the Al Hajar mountain range; and The Malkai, Sharqiya, situated in one of Oman’s most remote regions, a serene sanctuary in the golden oasis of the Sharqiya desert) will provide guests with an unparalleled opportunity to explore the country’s heritage, culture, and incredible natural diversity in one extraordinary journey.
With just 14 tented Pavilion one- or three-bedroom suites on each site, a unique interpretation of traditional Bedouin tents, the only accommodation of their kind in the country, they are a stunning mix of contemporary and classic Omani design and offer every modern comfort, woven with nomadic symbols of Bedouin life in Oman.
Guided by The Malkai’s farm-to-fork philosophy, a seasonally changing menu of Omani specialities are served alongside global delicacies in the tented dining pavilion. Signature spa therapies and organic treatments are available at each site, alongside gym facilities, running trails, large swimming pools and open-air pavilions for meditation, yoga, and pilates.
