INTERVIEW

What is your greatest extravagance?
TR: Traveling. Although this year it has not been at all possible to travel, in normal times I love exploring the world, and when possible enjoying some pampering.

When and where were you happiest?
TR: Professionally I have found myself to be at my most content since becoming Artistic Director of English National Ballet. It feels as if I have found what I am meant to do. Personally with my family, friends and loved ones, having a very long Sunday lunch that extends throughout the afternoon, or what we call “sobremesa”, all the way to dinner.

What is your most treasured possession?
TR: My home in London. We had it recently renovated and we moved back last year, just in time for the first lock down. It has made a world of difference.

Who is your fiction hero?
TR: I don’t really have a hero of fiction; there are, however, some individuals I really admire and I find very inspiring, like Oriana Falacci, Malala Yousafzai, Rudolf Nureyev.

What is your motto?
TR: “This too shall pass”
