279 Montauk Hwy, Water Mill, NY 11976, United States of America
Founded in 1898 in one of the most concentrated creative communities in the United States, the Parrish Art Museum has been a vital cultural presence on the East End of Long Island, NY for generations. The Parrish provides a new way to experience art with a distinct sense of place. Situated on 14 acres of meadow, the Museum’s landscape and critically acclaimed Herzog & de Meuron-designed building honour the East End’s built and natural environment. The Parrish is a place to discover and connect with artists and art with a focus on the rich creative legacy of the East End and its global impact on the art world.
The museum presents 15 temporary exhibitions each year, including new installations drawn from their world-class collection of more than 3,000 works, special exhibitions that reconsider the work of a single artist, and group exhibitions that explore compelling themes. The Parrish produces over 100 public programs—film, music, and talks—and offers a year-round schedule of inspiring classes and workshops, including incredible art programmes and activities for children. Inspired by the natural setting and artistic life of Long Island’s East End, the Parrish Art Museum illuminates the creative process and how art and artists transform our experiences and understanding of the world and how we live in it. The Museum fosters connections among individuals, art, and artists through care and interpretation of the collection, the presentation of exhibitions, publications, educational initiatives, programs, and artists-in-residence. The Parrish is a must-visit in the Hamptons, a true centre for cultural engagement, and an inspiration and destination for the region, the nation, and the world.
