NEW YEAR’S EVE INSPIRATION
Going out vs. staying in is THE hot debate for New Year's Eve! Whatever you decide to do, we have you covered, from our favourite tablescape companies and florists to decorate your home, to two fabulous restaurants with incredible NYE menus, to two truly out-of-this-world experiences, we have something for everyone!
STAYING IN
We love a beautiful table, and two of our favourite companies to help create your own stunning designs are Maison Margaux (you can even rent their pieces if you just need them for one evening!) and HMA Décor (who produce the most stunning table linens and accessories). We also love everything home from Moda Operandi Home, Matches Fashion Homeware, and Cabana.
A table, or indeed home, is not complete without stunning flowers, wreaths, trees, and holiday decorations, and a few of our favourite florists around the world are Hayford & Rhodes and Woodbrown in (London), David Kurio (Austin, TX), and FLOWERBX (global).
GOING OUT
Chef Thomas Keller visited Yountville, California, in the early 1990s to find a space to fulfil a long-time culinary dream: to establish a destination for fine French cuisine in the Napa Valley. Since 2007, the Michelin Guide has awarded The French Laundry their highest rating of three stars, making Chef Thomas Keller the only American-born chef to have two three-starred Michelin restaurants.
To celebrate New Years Eve, Chef Keller is offering a Luxury Tasting Menu, including Ossetra caviar, white and black truffles, and Wagyu beef. Everyone will be greeted with 2012 Bollinger La Grand Année and a gift from Chef Keller on departure.
The ultimate in Christmas traditions, The Nutcracker is back again at all the best venues across London, but a very special New Year’s Eve performance is on at the Royal Albert Hall. Enjoy the performance and then head over to one of the most festive restaurants (with the best food!) in town, No. Fifty Cheyne for a very special NYE menu from the incredibly talented Chef Iain Smith.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCES
The ultimate in winter experiences: Dolomites skiing at the Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano, Italy and fireworks in Venice via helicopter!
The Chalet Zero sleeps six guests at the Rosa Alpina, nestled in the perfect location in the Dolomites, and boasts its own private entrance, jacuzzi, hammam showers, and is complemented by the incredible service of the hotel (an AMAN Partner). The hotel is unmatched with a family feel where no request is too big, including jumping in a helicopter to see the fireworks in Venice for NYE and back again!
We can think of no better way to really get away from it all and unplug and unwind than chartering your own private boat somewhere amazing in the world and ringing in the New Year with your favourite family and friends. Whether you want total privacy, or to be moored off an island full of fun things to do on NYE itself (Hello, St. Barths or Mustique!), it is a dream way to start the New Year on a positive and happy note.
