Jimmy's Lodge, 78 Waterloo Bridge, London, SE1 9PX
friday 9th october to wednesday 30th december
Jimmy's Lodge is situated on the bustling Southbank, overlooking the Thames and the timeless buildings of London. The pop up space has been split into three areas: a cabin restaurant, private hire igloos and a bar area.
The Refuge Restaurant is a cosy, two-storey cabin with wooden cladding and a fully enclosed rooftop dining space - gifted with the best views south of the river. Back again this year are the new and improved, utterly Instagramable Igloos; four private dining domes available to book for up to 10 people per dome. Lastly, the heated riverside alpine bar will be serving mulled wine, espresso martinis and craft beer.
Starters include classic French mountain onion soup, Lodge home cured salmon with pickled beets, and a horseradish yogurt or 'Double Duck’; smoked duck breast, confit leg, endive and pickled walnuts, with a SW London honey & clementine dressing. For the main event, you can choose from alpine fondue, which is served with a selection of accompaniments, or there is the exciting steak-stone concept; where the steak is cooked on sizzling stones in front of your eyes at your table.
