INTERVIEW
What is your greatest extravagance?
AG: My greatest extravagance is to live my life from my heart, not following any currents and fashions. I create my version of the Universe through my everyday practice and art according to what I love, believe and feel. It probably sounds too simple to call it extravagance, but I can see so many people around me who are taken by fear and hide behind social masks.
When and where were you happiest?
AG: I have so many happy moments! My heart fills with joy when I paint. When I finish painting, it is another colour of happiness, satisfaction and discovery. I’m overwhelmed with happiness kissing and hugging my daughters, my husband and my mother. I feel delighted talking to my dear friends. My whole being is bursting with happiness when I hear birds singing and breathing in a flower blossom. When I open a new book, I’m filled with a whole palette. I love dancing. When I dance, I feel so happy and united with everything around me.
What is your most treasured possession?
AG: Although I have no feeling of possession, I can say that I cherish my family the most.
Who is your fiction hero?
AG: This answer might be taken differently by some people. In my opinion, the archetype hero is always the same throughout the stories created by humans. So my hero is somehow collective. It is always someone who breaks the mentality of logical thinking and acts according to love in a universal sense. I mean such heroes as Jesus Christ, Buddha, Mother Therese, Gandhi, and so many others.
What is your motto?
AG: Be a hero — act from your heart!
